This vibrant Necklace displays a Sterling Silver and Coral Bear Paw Pendant by Navajo Silversmith Pearlene Spencer. The Pendant is a near-oval and is comprised of 2 layers of Sterling Silver; the base layer, which is flat, and the top layer which has been domed and fashioned with 5 curved Bear Claw cut-outs. The Silver plate beneath the Claws has been oxidized, allowing the design to stand out. Above the Bear Claws is a circular recess which has been embellished with a Coral gemstone. The Coral has been encircled by a Sterling Silver saw tooth bezel, and the space behind is is oxidized. Just below the Coral Stone is stamped a Sun Ray, which symbolizes "constant." The Pendant hangs from a v-shaped Bail which also has Sun Ray markings. The piece is stamped on the back with the artist's hallmark and "Sterling." We've paired the Bear Paw with 3 strands of Bamboo Coral Nuggets, which are color-matched to the Coral in the Pendant. The Pendant swings from 1 of the 3 Coral strands, while the other 2 strands drape around it. The Coral has been highlighted by faceted Pyrite Rondelles and 8 and 10mm Sterling Ridged Rounds, picking up the silver tones from the Pendant and adding subtle sparkle. At the top of the Necklace the 3 strands of Coral transition to 3 strands of Olive Shell Heishi, streamlining the design and ensuring wearer comfort. The Necklace is finished with Sterling Silver Cones and Toggle Clasp and adorned with a Southwest Designs Sterling Charm. The piece weighs 88 grams and the 3 strands range in length from 22-1/4 inches to 23-3/4 inches, plus the Pendant, which is 2-7/8 inches by 1-3/4 inches, including the 3/4-inch Bail.
