This good-looking Necklace features a Pietersite and Sterling Silver Pendant by Nevada Silversmith Jim Daggett. Pietersite was discovered by Sid Pieters in 1962 while he was prospecting some farmland in Namibia, Africa. He registered the find in the mineral records of Britain; when the discovery was published in 1964, the material was named pietersite. African Pietersite is sought after for its wide range of color, and our teardrop-shaped Stone is no exception. The Stone displays iridescent blues, browns and gold, which shift in shape and hue when viewed from different angles. The Stone is set in a raised Sterling Silver Bezel on Sterling Plate that has been stamped in a crosshatch pattern, creating radiance and texture. The Pendant drapes from a V-Shaped Sterling Bail with similar crosshatching. It is stamped on the back with the artist's hallmark and "Sterling." An uncommon and beautiful piece.
We've paired the Pendant with 3 strands of 5mm Czechoslovakian Nailheads. The Nailheads are iridescent bronze in hue and are faceted, giving off a subtle sparkle. The Nailheads are complemented by 6mm translucent blue Crystal Rounds and violet Czech Glass Faceted Bicones, which mirror the blue hues in the Pendant. At the top of the Necklace the Nailheads transition to metallic blue TOHO Seed Beads, streamlining the silhouette and ensuring a comfortable fit. The Necklace is finished with a Sterling Silver Toggle Clasp and adorned with a Southwest Designs Sterling Charm. The piece weighs 54 grams and is 20-3/4 inches long plus the Pendant, which is 2 inches by 1 inch including the 3/8-inch Bail.
