This Necklace features a Black Obsidian and Sterling Silver Pendant crafted by Nevada Silversmith Jim Daggett. The Obsidian — a naturally occurring volcanic glass — was collected from the mountain foothills surrounding California's Mono Lake. The Pendant stone was cut from a larger piece, shaped to form an oval, and polished to a glossy sheen. It is set on rolled and meticulously textured Sterling Silver, and framed by Sterling Silver Bezel and Ball Wire. The Pendant drapes from a matching V-shaped Bail. Rolled Silver is thicker than traditional Silver plate, lending substance to the finished piece. It is stamped on the back with the artist's hallmark and "Sterling."
We've paired the Pendant with three strands of polished black Onyx Chip, which is 4-to-8mm in dimension. The Onyx is accented by Pyrite Nuggets and antique silver Czech Fire Polished Glass Faceted Ovals, adding translucency and subtle sparkle. Sterling Silver Feather-Print Rondelles and Ball-Wrapped Discs contribute elegance and shine. At the top of the Necklace the Onyx transitions to black diamond Czech Glass Ovals, streamlining the silhouette and ensuring a comfortable fit. The Necklace is finished with a silver Platinum Plated Toggle Clasp and a Southwest Designs silver charm (not shown).
