This exceptional Necklace showcases a 13-Stone Royston Turquoise and Sterling Silver Pendant by renowned Navajo artist Cecil Sanders. Royston Turquoise comes from the Royston Mining District near Tonopah, NV. The mine is still producing, but in limited quantities, so Royston is considered collectible. This Pendant features a large, center Royston stone in moss green hues with brown matrix. The center stone is surrounded by twelve 6-by-7.5mm color-matched Royston oval stones, all meticulously cut and polished to a silken sheen. The center stone is encircled by Twisted Sterling Silver Wire, and the ovals stones are spaced by 12 handcrafted Sterling Silver Balls. The Royston Turquoise and Sterling Silver elements are set on Sterling Silver Sheet that has been contoured to match the perimeter shape of the design. The Pendant drapes from a V-shaped Sterling Silver Bail with a stamped and oxidized pattern. The piece is stamped on the back with the artist's hallmark "CS" and "Sterling."
We've paired the Royston Pendant with 2 strands of Turquoise Heishi. The Heishi is 3.5-by-6mm in dimension and forest green in hue, with splashes of tan matrix. It is beautifully cut and polished. We've paired the Heishi with a number of complementary elements, including:
- Luminous green Czech Druk Glass Rounds (4 and 6mm);
- Transparent green Czech Fire Polished Glass Faceted Ovals (4mm);
- Light tan Faceted Glass Rondelles (5.5-by-6mm); and
- Smoky Quartz Discs (4.5mm).
These beads add color depth, translucency and subtle sparkle to the design, while increasing the flexibility of the Necklace. At the top of the Necklace the Turquoise Heishi transitions to Fire Polished Glass Faceted Ovals, streamlining the silhouette and ensuring a comfortable fit. The Necklace is finished with a Sterling Silver Toggle Clasp and adorned with a Southwest Designs Sterling Charm. The piece weighs 88 grams and is 21-1/4 inches long plus the Pendant, which is 3 inches tall by 1-3/8 inches wide including the 3/4-inch Bail.
