This distinctive Necklace features Graduated Antique Hebron Beads, hand-wound glass trade beads produced in Hebron, Palestine from the 18th to 20th centuries. The Beads have a rustic, porous matte texture due to the use of mineral-rich salts in their production. Each one is unique, with a character commensurate with their 200+ year-old age. Our Hebron Beads exhibit blue & green hues and are graduated, ranging in diameter from 14mm to 21mm. The Beads were made by winding molten glass around a metal mandrel, creating a roughly 5mm center hole. We have strung each Bead on two-to-three 4mm steel blue Glass Rounds — depending on the width of the Bead — and spaced them with 6mm and 8mm Czech Druk Glass Rounds in Montana Blue, blue-green metallic, Picasso green & translucent green. The Czech Glass contributes attractive translucency and subtle sparkle to the design. The Hebron Beads are ornamented by twelve 8mm Tibetan Silver Flower Discs, adding shine. At the top of the Necklace the Hebron Beads transition to two strands of 4mm steel blue Glass Rounds, streamlining the silhouette and ensuring a comfortable fit. The Necklace is finished with a Sterling Silver Toggle Clasp and adorned with a Southwest Designs Sterling Charm. The piece weighs 140 grams and is 25 inches long. An elegant piece of history.
