This striking Necklace showcases a 48mm Sterling Silver and Copper Thunderbird Pendant by Nevada Silversmith Jim Daggett. The Pendant was constructed by hand-cutting a Thunderbird* design into Sterling Silver Plate, doming it (hammering it into a convex shape), and layering it over a domed sheet of Copper. The domed plates are then soldered to a flat plate of Sterling to form the back of the Pendant. The technique produces a gleaming and elegant design. The Pendant hangs from a V-Shaped Sterling Silver Bail, and is stamped on the back with the artist's hallmark and "Sterling." We've paired the Thunderbird Pendant with 2 strands of Bamboo Coral Stick, in attractive hues of coral-red. The Coral ranges from 8mm to 12mm in length, and is polished to a fine sheen. It is complemented by 3mm translucent gray Fire Polished Glass Ovals, which are faceted and give off a subtle sparkle. The stones are highlighted by 7mm Copper Bicones and 10mm Sterling Silver Bench-Made Rounds, picking up the tones in the Pendant and adding shine. At the top of the Necklace the 2 strands of Coral transition to 2 strands of Fire Polished Glass, streamlining the silhouette and ensuring a comfortable fit. The Necklace is finished with Sterling Silver Rounds and Toggle Clasp and adorned with a Southwest Designs Sterling Charm. The piece weighs 136 grams and is 21-1/2 inches long plus the Pendant, which is 2-1/2 inches by 1-7/8 inches including the 5/8-inch Bail (when wearing, a vertical hang length of about 10 inches).
